Administrative Assistant, Part-Time
Green Meadow Waldorf School is seeking a part-time skilled administrative assistant. This efficient and versatile person will directly assist our Administrator with daily tasks and problem solving and may collaborate with other administrative staff as needed. We seek someone with strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities. The candidate will demonstrate initiative and have project management experience. Desire to work in a Waldorf educational setting a plus. Full-Time Lower School Spanish Teacher
We are seeking a full-time Lower School Spanish Teacher, Grades 1-8, beginning in the 2019-20 school year. (Start date: 7/1/19) The ideal candidate is familiar with the Waldorf approach to language instruction and speaks Spanish at the level of a native speaker; creates strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues; has well-developed classroom management skills that meet the student in an appropriate manner; and has excellent communication skills. Applicants should have an interest in and previous understanding of Waldorf pedagogy and its background in anthroposophy. (Waldorf certification is required for many positions.) The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant faculty and be able to partake of the benefits of an established anthroposophical community in suburban New York. Chestnut Ridge is about 20 miles from the cultural offerings and diversity of NYC and close to large state parks. Our school, now in its late sixties, contains an enlivening mix of seasoned, maturing, and newer teachers. The overall enrollment of our school is around 300 students. Our school is accredited by AWSNA and NYSAIS.
